Forest Service Temporary Closures and Restrictions – 09/08/20

On Monday, Sept 7th, @ 5pm the US Forest Service issued temporary closures on many National Forests in California and added restrictions on the National Forests remaining open.  The National Forests closed include: Stanislaus National Forest, Sierra National Forest, Sequoia National Forest, Inyo National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest, and Cleveland National Forest.  Please see the link below for the official closure and restrictions information.

You can still fish from Kernville Park upstream to Powerhouse #3 with smokey conditions. Sequoia National Forest expects to reopen the forest on Monday September 14, 2020.

We are experiencing a fire in the Golden Trout Wilderness at this time. Forks of the Kern Trailhead is closed and so is Black Rock Trailhead.The fire is moving towards Kern Flat and Grasshopper Flat.

We have smoky conditions in the morning, but as the wind changes direction in the afternoon and blows north, the smoke clears up the canyon. For more information on this fire click the link below.
